Inside Celeb Hunted’s Nicola Thorp romance with famous fiancé Nikesh Patel
Nicola Thorp and Nikesh Patel, who announced their engagement earlier this year, are on the run together in Celebrity Hunted.
Celebrity Hunted has returned on Channel 4 for its fifth season which sees some recognisable faces become fugitives as a team of surveillance experts try to track them down.
Actor Nikesh and former Coronation Street star Nicola will work as a team on screen, but away from filming the newly engaged couple are quite the double act and are frequently sharing snaps of their relationship with their followers.
The power couple confirmed they were dating in 2021 and have since shared heartfelt moments on Instagram including attending the Bafta's along with Valentine's and birthday celebrations.
As we watch them on the run together playing against the team of surveillance experts we take a closer look inside their wholesome and heartfelt relationship.
Who are the couple?
Nicola Thorp, 34, is an actress and broadcaster but is best known for playing the role of Nicola Rubinstein on Coronation Street.
Away from the cobbles she has also appeared on This Morning, Doctors, Father Brown and Doctor Who.
Her fiancé, Nikesh Patel, 38, is also an actor and is currently playing the role of Tom on Starstruck.
He has also appeared in Four Weddings and a Funeral, Doctor Who, The Devil's Hour, Artemis Fowl and Man Like Mobeen.
Their relationship
Nicola first announced she was dating Nikesh in October 2021 when she shared a loved up snap of the pair to celebrate his birthday.
In the blurry photo of the pair in a series of snaps Nicola posted she wrote: "A very happy birthday to @inikeshpatel. We bloody love you xxx".
Since confirming their relationship the pair have since shared with their followers a number of adorable and loveable photos together as they enjoy time away, with friends or in their home together.
And things have gone from strength to strength as the pair announced their exciting engagement in January this year on Instagram as they took a selfie showing off the stunning ring and the happy moment between the two.
Sharing the photo they posed with shocked faces, Nicola in a gorgeous red dress and Nikesh in a dapper white shirt and black bow tie with a mountain of balloons behind them.
Nicola pointed her engaged finger to the camera which shared a glimpse of her beautiful new ring with an emerald stone in the centre and diamonds surrounding it.
In the second photo, the couple looked over the moon as they smiled together, Nicola with her hand on Nikesh's chest as they took in their news.
Many fans were quick to comment on the new with one person writing: “Awwww yaaaaaaaay Congratulations!!!!”
While another said: “sending soo much love guys! Congratulations.”
Celebrity friends also took to the comment with Dermot O'leary commenting: “Hey! The best news. Congrats x”
Former Celebrity X Factor contestant Victoria Ekanoye, who also worked with Nicola on the soap, added: “Still smiling from the news. You guys are a UNIT. Love you x”
Talking about taking part in this year's Celebrity Hunted for charity, Nicola told the Radio Times: "I love Stand Up to Cancer and everything that Channel 4 does for Cancer Research. It was a total honour to be asked to do it. I love the show and it's for such an amazing cause.
"I've had family members who either have been diagnosed with cancer or who have died from cancer. So it's a cause that's very close to my heart."
Nikesh added: "Nic was the bigger fan of the programme out of the two of us until quite recently. But when I started watching it, I was just like, 'Oh my God, I don't know how I've missed this.' It’s basically a chance to live out every spy, action hero, fantasy in one go – it is just really cool and an amazing challenge."
