Inside Sam Thompsons 30th birthday celebrations in Marbella as Pete Wicks surprises him

Sam Thompson has been celebrating his 30th birthday in style, with the Made in Chelsea star jetting off to Marbella with his close pals and girlfriend Zara McDermott.

Sam and former Love Island star Zara, 25, have been enjoying a sun-soaked week in the sun and have been joined by a string of their close pals, including fellow MIC star Joshua 'JP' Patterson, 32, and The Only Way is Essex star Pete Wicks, 33.

Pete, who was recently spotted kissing his TOWIE co-star Ella Rae Wise on a night out, jetted off to Marbella to surprise Sam on his milestone birthday, with the 30 year old being unaware of his arrival.

In a sweet clip shared on Instagram, Sam can be seen walking through an outdoor restaurant before spotting Pete in the corner and excitedly pulling him in for a hug.

"You didn’t think I’d miss your 30th did you… @samthompsonuk – Happy birthday you complete pr***," Pete captioned the heartwarming clip.

Many of the pair's fellow celeb pals flocked to comment on the post, including Kady McDermott who said: "SO CUTE," and Love Islander Antigoni Buxton, who added: "So wholesome".

Sam, who turned 30 on 2 August, celebrated his milestone birthday at a luxury pool party in Marbella alongside his close pals and girlfriend, with the group all partying the day away.

Zara shared a string of sun-soaked snaps from her boyfriend's big day, including one of her tipping alcohol into Sam's mouth.

The 25 year old looked incredible in a brown embellished bikini and matching sarong for the day out, which she branded the "best day ever".

Sam could be seen sporting a pair of blue swim shorts covered with pink flamingos and looked to be having a blast as he partied with his friends in the sun.

He shared a snap of Zara and Pete holding him up to mark his 30th birthday on social media, along with a lengthy caption thanking Zara for organising the Marbella getaway.

"Today I am thirty! Spent the day with my nearest and dearest, and I am so full of gratitude. Thank you to my beautiful girlfriend for organising the trip of a lifetime I love you so much, I still wake up thinking it’s all a dream," Sam sweetly wrote alongside a laughing face emoji.

He continued, adding: "And to Pete for the best birthday surprise I’ve ever had. I am truly thankful. Also to you all. Some of whom have seen me grow since I was 21 (9 years ago!). We have come a long way! And we’ve only just started".

Sam's older sister Louise, 32, couldn't make the trip however and recently said she was "devastated" at having to miss her brother's 30th.

Taking to her Instagram the Made in Chelsea shared a picture of her brother holding her 9month old son, Leo, which she captioned: “I am devastated not to be there to celebrate with you in person on this big milestone, but I’m spending the day thinking of you guys, looking through all the photos and missing you like mad”.
