Inside Zara McDermott and Louise Thompson’s close bond including being neighbours

Zara McDermott has been dating former Made In Chelsea star Sam Thompson since summer 2019, not long after she split from her Love Island ex Adam Collard.

The pair have been through a lot together since then and even split up for awhile at the beginning of 2020 after it emerged that Zara, who recently revealed a surprising health diagnosis, had been unfaithful during her time on Celebrity X Factor.

However, they were able to reconcile and have been inseparable ever since, with Zara even growing extremely close to Sam’s sister, fellow reality star Louise Thompson.

In a recent interview, Zara opened up about their friendship.

The star confirmed to Hello that she was still neighbours with Louise and said that they’re “so lucky” to live so close by and revealed that Sam’s mum lives just on the road behind, explaining that they’re all “in a little triangle.”

Sam is very close to his older sister and the three of them – as well as Louise’s son and fiance, Ryan Libbey – often jet off to enjoy some time in the sun together.

In May 2022, the group headed to Mykonos in Greece during a trip that saw Zara cooing over baby Leo – sparking rumours that she might be broody herself.

Eventually, the star was forced to deny that she was planning a pregnancy.

She said, “I love Leo to absolute pieces, but my life is so busy, I’m away with work every single day… a baby would not fit into my life at all.”

Zara even joked that her career was her “child” for the time being.

In the same interview, Zara was full of praise for Louise and described her as the “strongest person I know” and added that she’s an “inspiration to so many women.”

In 2021, Louise gave birth to her first child, a son named Leo, but it didn’t go to plan and the star nearly died during her labour before forced to spend a month in intensive care.

Louise was later diagnosed with PTSD and has shared that she’s too “scared” to read the report into her son’s birth.

Zara, reflecting on Louise’s trauma, said that she doesn’t know if she would have coped with what she went through, but that baby Leo makes it all “worth it.”
