King Charles III ‘could not invite’ Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to his Coronation over their Netflix documentary, a royal expert has claimed.
Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams said ‘it’s business as usual’ for the Royal Family at the moment – after the senior members all stepped out and continued their engagements following the trailers for the Sussexes’ six-part docuseries.
However, he warned The Firm won’t continue with this approach indefinitely, claiming that further attacks from Harry and Meghan could result in the royals ‘cutting all ties’ with the US-based couple.
He told The Sun: ‘The question is, what can the royals do about it? Harry will always remain a prince. The only thing they can do is not invite them to the Coronation, and cut all ties – a clean cut from the Sussexes. Essentially, that’s all they can do.’

However, the expert did admit that he doubted the Royal Family would release a statement following the explosive documentary, set to be released on Thursday.
‘It isn’t in the interests of the Royal Family, unless in the most extreme circumstances, to comment,’ he said. ‘It would be an international circus. It is a no-win situation for the Royal Family.’
The Royal Family is braced for further attacks from Meghan and Harry when the first episode of their ‘explosive’ Netflix series is released, with the Duke speaking of a ‘hierarchy in the family’, a ‘dirty game’, and warning: ‘We know the full truth’.

In October, a former Kensington Palace press secretary said the Duke and Duchess of Sussex attending Charles’ Coronation remains to be seen because there’s still ‘a lot of water to run under that bridge’.
Dr Ed Perkins told Good Morning Britain that it is unclear whether the couple will be invited or able to travel from California to attend the occasion on May 6.

‘It’s about hatred, it’s about race’: Harry and Meghan drop ANOTHER Netflix trailer with more barbs about ‘hierarchy of royal family, suggesting insiders leaked and planted stories about them’ and featuring unseen images of pregnant Duchess
The former royal aide, who was deputy press secretary to the Queen and then press secretary to Princes William and Harry, said: ‘The idea that anyone at this stage understands whether Harry and Meghan will attend, I would take with a great pinch of salt.
‘There are months still to go, a lot of water to run under that bridge yet. Opportunities may yet arise. We’ll have to see.’
King Charles’ Coronation will take place on Saturday May 6 next year – the fourth birthday of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s son Archie. The Queen Consort will be crowned alongside the monarch in Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace said.
Elsewhere, a royal expert has claimed Charles would be ‘triggered’ to strip Harry and Meghan of their royal titles if they ‘directly attack’ the Princess of Wales in their Netflix docu-series..
Royal commentator Michael Cole hinted on GB News earlier this week that removing the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s titles was an ‘option’ for Charles after the release of their new TV special and Harry’s upcoming memoir Spare.
In the second trailer for their docu-series – which lands on the streaming platform tomorrow morning – Prince Harry blasted the ‘pain and suffering of women marrying into this institution’ as footage of Kate facing a ‘feeding frenzy’ of photographers in 2007 was shown.
Meanwhile, experts have speculated the ‘uncomfortable’ documentary series will touch on the Princess of Wales’ life before she married into the Royal Family.

Mr Cole said the palace’s reaction to the Lady Susan Hussey scandal shows they aren’t afraid to act quickly in the face of a crisis – and would do the same to protect Kate.
He explained: ‘We saw how swiftly Buckingham Palace moved to cut loose Lady Susan Hussey after only 60 years of service to the crown at the weekend.
‘We’ll have to see what’s in there, but it looks as if it’s bare-knuckle fighting, and the gloves are off.’
Last week Prince William’s godmother, 83, resigned after she repeatedly pressed British black domestic abuse campaigner Ngozi Fulani about where she was ‘really from’ during a reception at Buckingham Palace.
Royal expert Michael Cole said King Charles (pictured yesterday) could be ‘triggered’ to strip the couple of their titles if they ‘directly attack’ his daughter-in-law the Princess of Wales
Shortly after the incident was made public, the palace issued a statement saying it had taken the complaint ‘extremely seriously’ and immediately launched an investigation.
Staff have been ‘reminded of the diversity and inclusivity policies which they are required to uphold at all times’, a spokesman said.
Although the royals may try to adopt a ‘never complain, never explain’ mentality in the face of new bombshells from Harry, 38, and Meghan, 41, Michael said it will be harder to stay quiet if the documentary attacks the Princess of Wales.
What’s more, the expert warned Charles may even consider revoking the couple’s titles after the documentary’s release and publication of the Duke’s upcoming memoir Spare.
The expert continued: ‘He can remove the title HRH, Her Royal Highness, His Royal Highness. It was done when Diana divorced immediately… that’s big medicine, that means something a great deal.’
Both Netflix trailers showed images of a stern-looking Princess of Wales (this image shows her at a Commonwealth Day service and was taken from the first one)

‘The King does have that sanction, or maybe they will try to never explain, never respond to it. I think it would be hard for them to do that.
‘What will trigger that is if there are direct attacks on his [Prince William’s] wife Catherine, the Princess of Wales, I think that might trigger it.’
On Good Morning Britain yesterday, Jack Royston, chief royal correspondent at Newsweek, said the content of the trailer suggested the documentary series will touch on the Princess of Wales’ life before she married into the Royal Family in 2011.
He explained: ‘We’ve had Kate in both the trailers. In the most recent one there’s a strapline underneath which is a headline from a magazine cover.
‘That particular magazine included an allegation that the Queen was embarrassed of her and photographs of her drunk in public were on the front cover.

‘So if they’re going to go into the early days of Kate and William’s relationship that could be very uncomfortable.’
Mr Royston also predicted Netflix would revisit a story from 2018 which claimed that Meghan made Kate cry when she unfavourably compared Princess Charlotte to her best friend’s daughter during a bridesmaid fitting.
He added: ‘In the Oprah interview that was described as a major turning point where everything changed, then in this latest Netflix trailer you have Harry saying, ”this was the turning point” – they don’t say what he’s talking about but you kind of already know.’
The Royal Family will be hoping to distract from the chatter surrounding the documentary as they rally around the Princess of Wales for her Carol Service at Westminster Abbey on December 15 – the same day the second round of episodes in the TV special land on Netflix.
Kate, 40, recently revealed she will include O’ Come, All Ye Faithful in the service, after asking Good Morning Britain viewers to for one out of a choice of three carols. It will air on ITV1 on Christmas Eve.
The purpose of the service is to recognise selflessness among individuals and communities around the UK and highlight the importance of supporting others during difficult times.
The event, which is spearheaded by the Princess of Wales band supported by The Royal Foundation, will showcase the ‘joy’ of coming together in friendships and community events that support people in times of difficulty and loss.
