Love Island’s Tasha Ghouri takes inspo from Maura Higgins with a razor-sharp short bob

Short hair is having a moment, and leading that moment is Tasha Ghouri. The Love Island star, who has racked up 1.5 million Instagram followers thanks to her fashion-focused feed, decided to jump on the trend this week – and she’s certainly setting a high standard for short hair.

Previously a fan of waist-length, flowing tresses, the new look sees Tasha lose inches of length from the ends of her hair. Revealing the above-the-chin bob on Instagram, the former Islander captioned the series of snaps: “A short hair metallic moment”.

Fans have responded in the masses to compliment the blonde beauty on her trendy new cut, with one saying: “Short hair on you is something else”.

A second says: “High fashion slay,” with a third adding: “Oh my goodness I think this has to be my fav look on you ever”.

Tasha isn’t the first star to unveil this type of haircut this month. Just last week,Maura Higginsmade a bid for Bob of the Year with her modern take on a ‘Pulp Fiction’ ‘do. Unveiling the style on the red carpet of the recent Creed 3 premiere, Maura captioned an Instagram grid post of her look from the night: “Me & my new best friend….Bob”.

Tasha and Maura’s bob share plenty of similarities. Firstly, they both feature a “cool girl” wavy texture. Both cuts are also razor sharp and have been trimmed to fall slightly above the chin in a type of “French girl” style. Of course, Maura’s bob features the addition of a fringe, but there’s still time for Tasha to take her transformation one step further.

Maura and Tasha aren’t the first famous faces to brave short hair. We do have to wonder if singer Lily Allen sparked the bob movement in the celeb world thanks to her own short, trendy crop. Experts are calling her cut an “Amelie bob” – and it’s apparently the “it” style for this winter.

“Winter sees the bob take on a Parisian feel with a statement fringe and wavy, undone texture,” explainsJordanna Cobella, Wella Professionals digital craft expert and Cobella salon owner. “This cut perfectly frames the neck and jawline, and it really helps to create structure and definition, flattering most face shapes. It’s also such a transitional look for those growing out a pixie or a short cut.”
