Luxe mansion on market for £3m divides opinion – what side are you on? | The Sun
A LUXURIOUS mansion located in a popular UK seaside town is on sale for £3 million – but has left users divided online.
The stunning property, in Bournemouth, has nine bathrooms, a swimming pool and outdoor entertainment area.
There is also a gym, pool table room and a movie room plus a detached lodge in the grounds.
And the mega home – called Dean Park Manor – is a stones throw from the notorious millionaires enclave of Sandbanks.
But it annoyed one prospective homebuyer after it was labelled online as a “magnificent gentleman's residence” in both property listings.
One user, called Lesley, fumed that the phrasing was outdated and discriminated against certain buyers.

“What dinosaur thought this was a good idea? Don’t you have guidelines,” she scathed in the comments section.
Rightmove, who listed the property, tweeted her back saying: “Hello and thank you for bringing this to my attention.
“I have raised this to our Data Quality team, who will investigate this listing and the key feature you have identified.
“If you have any other queries or questions, please let me know.”

But she was stunned when the company said it would not remove the phrase following an investigation because it means a house with “period features.”
Rightmove said in another tweet: “Following our investigation, we'll not be removing the listing.
“As a 'gentleman's residence' is classed as a home with many period features, but not as formal as a country residence.”
Lesley angrily replied: “Good luck selling your ‘gentlemans’ residence.
“You appear not to see how offensive it is regardless of ‘the true meaning.
“Weirdly ‘master bedroom‘ is no longer used. Even though by your classing that’s what it is," she added.
The controversial phrase was mentioned in the key features for the house.
It reads: “Successful luxury Airbnb property, magnificent gentleman's residence, extensive private grounds – 0.8 acre – pool and outdoor entertaining area.
“Ten bedrooms, nine bathrooms, open plan kitchen/family room, annex potential with separate entrance, detached lodge in grounds, detached garaging.”
The full listing adds: “An incredible opportunity to acquire a magnificent character home currently being used very successfully for luxury holiday letting.
“This very special property is ideal as an Airbnb or as a substantial family home and is located in a conservation area adjacent to Bournemouth Town Centre.
