Man fake tans for date but falls asleep – wakes up looking so bad she blocks him

A bloke was left "looking like Madge from Benidorm" after falling asleep with fake tan on and waking up a bizarre shade of orange.

Darren, from Middlesbrough, attempted to give his skin a bottle-kissed glow before going out on a date but accidentally fell asleep after applying the lotion.

In a viral video, the bloke known as 'Dazza' was seen sitting on his balcony while applying the tan to his face having seen his neighbours opposite do the same.

But his pal Graham then revealed Darren had accidentally fallen asleep after lathering it.

When he woke up, the 48-year-old rushed to wash the lotion off but it had already stained his skin a bizarre shade of “orange”.

To make things worse, his date reportedly “blocked” him after he told her what happened.

Speaking about the blunder, he told NeedToKnow.online: "I couldn’t believe the colour I went, I tried to wash it off but I had no joy at all.

“I asked the women next door how could I wash it off and they said it would come off after in the shower but it didn’t. Anyways my date text me asking if everything was okay for the date so I told her about what happened and she blocked me.

“A few days after it started going orange and even my beard changed colour.”

The bloke was so embarrassed he admitted he has now bought wig and a hat to try and disguise himself.

“My mate said there was no point in staying in and hiding so we decided to go out," he added.

“But because of some of my viral videos from Benidorm, I have a lot of people wanting pictures with me. To disguise myself I bought a wig and put some sunglasses on but I am still getting spotted.

“I have just decided to leave it now as there is nothing I can do. It’s been an eventful week and I’d never use that stuff [fake tan] again.”

Darren, who posts online under the username @dazza_bigdogbenidorm, racked more than 868,000 views on the video of his hilarious fail with viewers comparing Madge to the hit TV show Benidorm.

“You two are a liability, I'd love a holiday with yas,” one user commented.

Another added: “I'm crying.”

Referring to the TV show Benidorm, a third else simply wrote: “Madge.”

“It's giving Mick Garvey when he arrives at the airport in the Christmas special series of Benidorm,” a fourth commented.

However, some users offered some helpful advice for how to fade the colour with one viewer suggesting using baking soda, while someone else told him to put toothpaste on his face.

Another added said: “Baking soda will get it off. Make it into a paste with oil or water.”

“Get coffee granules from a barista!! Or veet!!” a third said.
