Meghan Markle andSophie Wessex looked united in grief yesterday asthey made their way to Westminster Hall together as part of the procession of the Queen’s coffin from Buckingham Palace.

AsCamilla, Queen Consort, andKate Middleton made their way to the ceremony, 41 year old Meghan and Sophie, Countess of Wessex, 57, could be seen following the duo in a separate car.

And while Meghan and Sophie are rarely seen alone together, the pair share many similarities, including the fact that they both married into the royal family.

But what else do we know about their relationship? Let’s take a peek…

Similar interests

Prior to entering the royal family, both Meghan and Sophie had careers in the media industry. While the Duchess of Sussex is known for her role in Netflix drama Suits, the Countess of Wessex founded her own PR company.

Elsewhere, the duo have both shown an interest in promoting women’s rights, with Meghan infamously fighting a sexist TV advert when she was just 11 years old and Sophie recently attending a tour of New York where she focused on the issue.

Speaking toTrue Royalty TV, royal expert Russell Myers explained: “The similarities between Sophie and Meghan are there to be seen.

“Sophie’s working with girls’ education, she’s done a lot of stuff about violence against females in Africa…Are the Instagram generation going to be as obsessed with Sophie and Edward Wessex as they are with the Sussexes? Obviously not.

“However, when you’re dealing with them… Sophie’s really across her subject matter.”

New members of the family

With the royals’ status as one of the most famous families on the planet, entering the royal family is likely to be a daunting experience for any new member.

However, in an interview with The Sunday Times, Sophie explained how the family are welcoming of new individuals and that she tries to help anyone entering the household.

“We all try to help any new members of the family,” she said.
