One of Archetypes’ aims is to break down harmful stereotypes of women, and today’s episode of the podcast was no exception. With Paris Hilton, Meghan examined the labels “bimbo” and “dumb blonde”, and how they have always been used against women.
Archetypes is an opportunity for royal fans to get a glimpse of Meghan’s personal life as she has often spoken about her family, including her children, in some of the podcast’s episodes.
In today’s episode, which is the sixth of the series, the Duchess revealed her hopes for her daughter, Lilibet.
Meghan mentioned her one-year-old while discussing the word “bimbo” with Paris.
She said: “I’d be curious to hear your thoughts on this idea because when I hear the word bimbo, I have a very negative connotation to it.
“I don’t see that as an aspirational thing for a woman, I want our daughters to aspire to be slightly higher.
“I want my Lili to want to be educated and want to be smart and to pride herself on those things.”
This came after Meghan had spoken about her time on TV programme Deal or No Deal, where she felt she was being praised for her beauty, and not her brains.
When mentioning Lilibet, it seemed the Duchess was saying that she would want her daughter to care more – and be proud – of her intelligence, rather than her looks.

On Deal or No Deal, Meghan shared: “Before the tapings of the show, all the girls, we would line up and there were different stations for having your lashes, put on, or your extensions, put in, or the padding in your bra.
“We were even given spray-tan vouchers each week because there was a very cookie cutter idea of precisely what we should look like. It was solely about beauty and not necessarily about brains.
“And when I look back at that time I will never never forget this one detail because moments before we’d get on stage, there was a woman who ran the show and she would be there backstage and I can still hear her.
“She couldn’t properly pronounce my last name at the time, and I knew who she was talking to because she would go, ‘Markell suck it in, Markell suck it in’.”
Meghan continued: “I ended up quitting the show. Like I said, I was thankful for the job but not for how it made me feel, which was not smart.
“And by the way, I was surrounded by smart women on that stage with me, but that wasn’t the focus of why we were there and I would end up leaving with this pit in my stomach, knowing that I was so much more than what was being objectified on the stage.”
It is difficult to tell what Meghan is like as a mother behind closed doors, but she, as well as Harry, has given an insight into her parenting techniques over the past couple of years in various interviews.
Parenting expert Gifty Enright previously spoke to Express.co.uk about Meghan and Harry’s parenting skills, and how they would want their children to grow up as well-rounded individuals in as “normal” an environment as possible.
Gifty said it is clear that Harry “is a fun dad” as “we have seen clips of Harry on the beach in Montecito with Archie doing normal dad things which show his playful side, which we are all familiar with in his well-publicised antics as a child growing up”.
“Harry also pointed in an interview with James Corden that Archie’s first word was ‘crocodile; and he was at pains to point out it was three syllables,” the expert continued.
“We have also seen clips of Megan reading to Archie. This shows that the pair are interested in the education and the intellectual development of their children.”
Gifty added: “It is clear that both Megan and Harry are determined to attempt to raise their children in the most normal way they can manage in the rarefied circles in which they live.
“Although the Sussexes will try and give their children as normal a childhood as possible, let’s face it, the most that they can hope for is a unique childhood because their circumstances are far from normal.”
