Morrisons have divided shoppers after launching a range of Easter eggs made entirely out of cheese.
The cheesy treats are set to hit supermarket shelves today, with two different flavours on offer to customers.
Cheese enthusiasts will be able to dine on the Lancashire and Cheddar flavour, or try out the Stratford Blue, ahead of the Easter celebration in two weeks.
The eggs come with a price tag of £5, and are both handmade in Lancashire using top quality British cheese.
However many shoppers were left divided about the offering, with one person commenting: ‘You’ll never convert me from chocolate to cheese.’

‘I love cheese, but not that! How many are you ordering?’ One Twitter user commented.
Another wrote: ‘Anyone elses’ grandchild want a cheese Easter egg or is it just my little weirdo?’
‘Swiss cheezus!’ one person added.
A third commented: ‘My eldest would love this.’
The supermarket described how the Stratford Blue egg has a ‘a soft and tangy flavour’, while the Lancashire and Cheddar version offers a ‘soft and creamy irresistible treat.’
Andrew Thomas, buying manager, cheese at Morrisons said: ‘We’re continuously looking for ways to make Easter moments fun and exciting for our customers and we’re thrilled to unveil a real unique twist on a true classic.’
While shoppers should be able to get their hands on the eggs for £5, My Morrisons customers can purchase for £4 from 10 April.
However Morrisons isn’t the first supermarket to launch a cheese Easter egg over the last few years.
In 2018, Asda unveiled the ‘Cheester Egg’ – which came with mini oatcakes and a sachet of caramelised onions chutney.
However many shoppers confessed the new range had left them divided, with some suggesting they would ‘never be converted’ from chocolate
And three years ago, M&S launched limited edition cheese eggs for those who prefer a savoury treat.
The eggs were made with Barber’s Farmhouse Cheddar and a vintage 18-month matured Red Leicester ‘yolk’.
Each egg had been hand-dipped in a duck egg blue wax ‘shell’ and was roughly the size of large hen’s egg. The 360g carton of six eggs costs £8.50.
A Big Cheesy Egg costing £8.00 for 300g, (roughly the dimensions of a goose egg) will also be available in 250 M&S stores from next Wednesday.
