My high-earning girlfriend pays for our holidays and it makes me feel like less of a man | The Sun
DEAR DEIDRE: I’M treated to lavish holidays I can’t afford by my girlfriend, and it makes me feel like less of a man.
We both work in schools. She’s a head, aged 39, and I am a 32-year-old PE teacher.
Although she says her higher salary is not an issue, it is to me, especially when it comes to holidays.
When she suggested New York, I told her I’m up to my eyeballs in debt and asked if we could go somewhere more affordable, like Majorca.
The next day she texts me saying it’s all booked – her treat.
She says I’m being ungrateful but I don’t feel comfortable with this.

DEIDRE SAYS: Being able to talk to your partner openly and honestly about everything, including money, is important.
Find a moment with your girlfriend to explain how you feel undermined.
Rarely do two people earn the exact same amount of money.
There are a lot of ways you can contribute to a relationship besides monetarily.
