Queen Letizia of Spain was effortlessly elegant as she sported a stunning red leather ensemble while out in Germany with her husband today.

The royal, 50, donned a matching blazer and skirt set, adding a pop of colour to her chic, autumnal look.

She threw the lapel-free jacket over a sophisticated white blouse, which featured ruffled detailing, as she and King Felipe VI walked on the Agora of the Frankfurt International Book Fair 2022.

The queen carried a scarlet clutch to accessorise, and sported a matching pair of heels.

Her husband, 54, looked dapper in a deep navy suit, worn with a red tie, as the pair was pictured smiling and mingling with crowds during the engagement.

King Felipe VI, 54, and Queen Letizia of Spain are on a state visit to Germany that was delayed for a year because of the coronavirus pandemic.

They grinned while talking with attendees at the world’s largest trade fair for books, and runs from 19 to 23 October 2022. Spain is the guest of honor at this year’s event.

‘We hope it will help promote even more the Spanish language and culture as a vehicle for mutual understanding between our two peoples,’ Felipe previously told reporters of the occasion.

It comes as yesterday the royal couple were the event’s special guests for the evening and happily posed for pictures with German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, 66, and his wife Elke Buedenbender, 60.

On Tuesday the queen had also rocked a gorgeous fuchsia dress during a visit to Berlin’s historic Brandenburg Gate.

Felipe and his wife appeared in good spirits as they continued their state visit to Germany with a book fair engagement today

The structure is a symbol of Germany’s post-Cold War reunification, although it was actually built in 1791.

Letizia was wearing a long, hot pink dress underneath a classy beige overcoat, which was paired with a set of heels in a similar hue.

She was also holding a wonderfully colourful floral handbag.

Meanwhile Felipe was received with military honours by President Frank-Walter Steinmeier on Monday, at the German head of state’s Bellevue palace in Berlin.

He said Germany and Spain are ‘united by the principles of freedom, democracy and the rule of law.’

Felipe added: ‘Finally we’re here – we’re very happy about that.’
