Queen Margrethe of Denmark has made her first appearance since she tested positive for Covid the day after attending the Queen’s funeral.
Margrethe, 82, a distant cousin of the late Queen Elizabeth, joined Queen Sonja of Norway at a literary event in Oslo last night.
The Danish queen has been in isolation since testing positive for Covid last Tuesday and was forced to miss a glitzy ball held over the weekend to celebrate her Golden Jubilee.
But the Danish Royal Household yesterday announced Margrethe would return to royal duties and travel to Norway as planned.

Queen Sonja of Norway presented the Nordic Association’s annual language award to Queen Margrethe of Denmark at Nordens Hus in Oslo before they attended a gala at the Grand Hotel.
Margrethe, who is Europe’s longest serving current head of state, and the only current queen regent, wore a vibrant long pink skirt for the gala dinner, which she paired with a navy blue lace top.
She pinned her hair tightly back and was pictured with a navy shawl over her shoulders as she arrived at the Grand Hotel.
Queen Sonja of Norway accompanied Queen Margrethe as she arrived at the Grand Hotel.
Queen Sonja, 85, wore a long blue dress, which she matched with silver heels and a large cream shawl.

Since 2010, the Nordic Association has awarded its language prize every year to a person, institution or organisation that has contributed to strengthening Nordic language understanding.
This year, the association presented the award to Queen Margrethe for the reason that the Queen is an important voice for Nordic cooperation, community and language.
Margrethe tested positive for Covid-19 just 24 hours after attending the Queen’s funeral and mourning events in London last week.
She was in attendance at Westminster Abbey along with her son Crown Prince Frederik, and the two went on to the Queen’s Committal Service in Windsor afterward.

The royal also paid her respects to the Queen by visiting her coffin in Westminster Hall the night before the Queen’s funeral, and attended the Buckingham Palace ‘reception of the century’ where she was pictured chatting closely with King Charles.
