Sarah Ferguson says late sister-in-law Princess Diana would be ‘so proud’ of Prince William and Prince Harry and her ‘beautiful grandchildren’

The Duchess of York has said her late sister-in-law Princess Diana would be ‘so proud’ of Prince William and Prince Harry.
Sarah Ferguson, 63, who lives at Royal Lodge in Windsor with her ex-husband Prince Andrew, told Marie Claire, that – even 25 years after her death, Diana is never far from her mind.
She said: ‘I don’t miss her, because she’s with me. Last night I had a dream about her, and I know she’s with me.
‘And I’m just so proud of her, and she’d be so proud of her sons and beautiful grandchildren.’

She also told the magazine that – that she had finally accepted herself.
She said: ‘I’ve learned: don’t try and explain yourself—just be yourself.’
The Duchess, who got divorced from disgraced Prince Andrew in 1986, and has two children with him, Princess Beatrice and Eugenie.
And she has previously spoken of her bond with Diana. In 2021, she said the pair never fell out but people speculated about rifts because they wanted to ‘break up something strong’.

The Duchess of York, who met Diana when they were teenagers before they both married the Queen’s sons told People: ‘We promised each other we would always be together – there was never any daylight between us,
‘But everybody wanted that because we were so strong together. People want to break something so strong.’
She added they were ‘best friends’ and that she called the Princess of Wales ‘Duch’.
She added: ‘She taught me so much of public life. She was so brave. We used to have the most incredible time together.’
Speaking about her old friend as an aunt and mother, she went on: ‘[Diana] adored my girls. She adored [her] boys. This would be her haven. Her heaven.’

The Duchess is currently working on her career as an author.
Her first work of historical fiction, Her Heart for a Compass, was based on the story of her great-great-aunt, Lady Margaret Montagu Douglas Scott.
She has now written more then 70 books – many of them for children.
And she recently signed a 22-book deal with Australian publisher Serenity Press to write young adult books based on her own experiences with mental health and eating disorders.
Next year, she will also see two more of her books published. One will be another work of historical fiction, and one will be a self-help book, both out in early 2023.
