A teacher has listed the five small gifts they actually want this Christmas.

Lanae, who teaches first grade in the US and goes by the TikTok username @lanae1996, shared a short video to help parents this festive season.

‘I promise they have enough cups and mugs,’ she captioned the clip, before adding that each present costs no more than $25.

At the top of the list was a pair of $24.95 ‘noise blocking earbuds for plan time’, so teachers can concentrate and plan their lessons in silence (left). Next, Lanae, from the US, highly recommended felt pens that are not only coloured but also scented. At Officeworks this gift only costs $19.98 (right)

At the top of the list was a pair of $24.95 ‘noise blocking earbuds for plan time’, so teachers can concentrate and plan their lessons in silence.

Next, Lanae, from the US, highly recommended felt pens that are not only coloured but also scented. At Officeworks this gift only costs $19.98.

The third gift idea was a $25 food voucher ‘when they forget their lunch’. In Australia food delivery companies such as Uber Eats and Door Dash offer vouchers.

Help teachers organise their belongings, such as notepads, pens, and books, with a $14 carry bag.

Lanae said this can be used ‘for carrying teacher stuff’.

The final gift idea was a selection of personalised teacher stamps, which can be bought from Etsy for as little as $4.80 each.

Lanae said these ‘make grading papers more fun’ and are designed with the teacher’s name along with a comment, such as ‘[name] loves your work!’

In the video, other examples read ‘Mrs Jackson likes this!’ and ‘Mr Evans says great job!’

The video has since been viewed more than 272,000 times and fellow teachers shared their thoughts on the gifts.

‘As a teacher…I APPROVE OF ALL OF THESE!!!’ one woman wrote, another said: ‘Those earplugs look amazing! As a teacher 10/10 would love.’

‘So nice this isn’t a ‘gifts we hate’ list,’ a third added.

But some deemed the gifts to be to ‘too expensive’.

‘I don’t have money for 10 teachers $20 each,’ one person wrote.

‘Who’s spending that much for a teachers gift?’ another asked.
