The film is a throwback to the classic B-monster movies of the 1950’s and was the feature-length debut of director Frank Marshall. In his typical comedic style, Goodman’s role was that of Delbert McClintock, the guy who is hired to take care of the spider problem and provides some humor along the way.

Ranked in the top ten best films Goodman has starred in according to Looper, he plays Howard. As a woman gets in a car accident, she wakes up in Howard’s underground bunker and things don’t look good. The A-List actor truly believes he’s holding the woman and others in captivity for their own safety, but the hostages aren’t so sure. The Atlantic called this film one of Goodman’s “best performances in years.”

In his second film role with Denzel Washington (the two also starred in Fallen together), Goodman plays Harling Mays, Washington’s right-hand man and drug dealer. According to IMDB, an airline pilot (Washington) saves almost all of his passengers on his malfunctioning airliner which eventually crashed but the investigation into the accident doesn’t turn out so well. Experts discover Washington’s character is a high-functioning addict, casting a shadow on his job well done. The film is a return to live action for director Robert Zemeckis after The Polar Express and A Christmas Carol to name a few.

7 Evan Almighty – $100 Million

In the popular film about building an ark in modern times, Goodman plays Congressman Long, the not so convinced peer of Steve Carrell. Of course, the family film will forever put God and Morgan Freeman’s voice in the same sentence and audiences loved the interaction between the characters in a larger-than-life plot as Carrell’s character attempts to build an ark for the world.

Goodman joins the Hangover cast of Bradley Cooper, Zach Galifianakis and Ed Helms as the ‘bad guy’ in the film. He’s sent the men out to recover money stolen from him and well, they mess up left and right. The angry gangster kidnaps one of their own and the Wolf Pack has to track down Mr. Chow, a prison escapee on the run.

In the popular film version of a classic cartoon, Goodman plays Fred Flintstone alongside Rick Moranis, Rosie O’Donnell and Elizabeth Perkins. The family film brought back good memories to a generation of cartoon enthusiasts and introduced the classic characters to the younger crowd. In Goodman’s typical role, he provides comedy, adventure and a great lesson.

In the 2017 version of the many King Kong films, Goodman joins a stellar cast including Tom Hiddleston, Samuel L. Jackson and John C. Reilly as the man who has past information for the mystery at hand. A team of scientists explore an island in the Pacific which happens to be the home of the mighty Kong. Action, adventure and mystery ensue as the group finds themselves trying to escape the island alive.

Comedian David Spade voices the lead character, a self-absorbed and selfish Emperor who finds himself transformed into a llama. Goodman comes along as Pacha, a villager stuck on a road trip with the llama and determined to see the good in him, despite his terrible attitude. The animated film was unique and provided Goodman with one of his most popular and highest grossing films to date.

Others lent their voice to the film like Steve Buscemi and Helen Hunt and it was so popular, Pixar took another turn with Monster’s University, proving audiences loved their favorite monsters.
