As Westworld arrives on our screens for another season, immersive experiences continue to be all the rage. Leading the way are the likes of Secret Cinema, with their huge budget set pieces, inviting audiences into the vast worlds of famous movies.
Meanwhile, COLAB Theatre Productions are offering a Wild West immersive theatre show experience that’s very impressive for one that doesn’t have such Disney-sized funds to play with.
The venue is a converted London pub with three main rooms and a beer garden that has been transformed into a 19th-century Western town.
Upon our arrival, we were greeted, as is always the case with these things, by actors in character having been encouraged to dress in an attire worthy of the genre ourselves.
Inside the dimly lit and well-decorated space was a Wild West town’s church, sheriff’s office and saloon area complete with the old pub’s working bar open for the whole show.

After an introduction it wasn’t long before the main cast of the sheriff, mayor, doctor and bandit split us up for an adventure full of amusing interactions.
We ended up with the lawman in his office planning how to interrogate a bandit in the downstairs jail cell.
This proved to be a very clever form of interactive theatre as when we headed down to do this, those in another group watched on behind the bars as we became part of the act itself.
We don’t want to spoil what happens next, but yes there are toy guns involved and even a clever twist right at the end of the night.
