UKs least sexy names laid bare – and its bad news for you, Barry and Kirsty

The name Barry is officially a passion-killer for lusty ladies.

Barry White might be the “Walrus of Love” and Barry Manilow is famed for his romantic hits, but lasses say the moniker is enough to stop them dating one. It was closely followed by Stewart and Mike.

For fellas, Candice was the least attractive girl’s name – bad news for Bake Off winner Candice Brown. It came in just ahead of Kirsty and Chantelle.

The survey was run by Top10Casinos whose spokesman Tom Darwin said: “A name, or identity, is a powerful thing. It is a descriptor that allows people to make quick judgments and assumptions about us.

“The names in our survey are quite old-fashioned, which some would associate with grandparents or older people, potentially giving them an old-fashioned sense of being.

“They could also be associated to characters on TV, films or books, or even good and bad experiences with people in real life, which our brains would associate that name with.”

Unsurprisingly, the results have left some feeling disgruntled though.

Barry Jenkins, from Doncaster, fumed: “It might not be the most modern name, but I’ve always done alright with the ladies and never had any complaints.”
