We live in the UK's most confusing village – it's hiding a bizarre secret… we're all baffled | The Sun
RESIDENTS living in a seemingly typical village say it's hiding a bizarre secret which has left them baffled.
Despite an international profile with a racetrack, airport and Download Festival nearby, you'd be forgiven for not knowing where you are.
Castle Donington has a Derbyshire postcode and is next to what was formerly known as Nottingham East Midlands Airport, but the village is actually in Leicestershire.
Sharon Conroy claimed it was almost three years before she realised what county she was living in.
"There's the Derbyshire postcode, so when I moved here seven years ago it was probably two or three years before I realised it was actually Leicestershire," the 56-year-old told LeicestershireLive.
"I lived in the Loughborough area before and I thought I'd moved to a new county. But I was still here. It's an amazing place. It's really friendly and that's the most important thing."
