Woman nearly died as horror lip filler session left her looking like Snoopy

A woman who got lip fillers was horrified when the cosmetic procedure went terribly wrong.

Isis de Oliveira Almeida Pinheiro, from Brazil, had hoped to plump her pout.

But she regretted the salon trip after an allergic reaction caused her entire face to swell up – leaving people joking that she "looks like Snoopy".

The 20-year-old student explained the horrific reaction set in just minutes after dissolving enzymes were injected into her lips.

This is typically done to prepare the mouth area and get rid of any old filler.

Isis recorded the moment it all went wrong – and her TikTok video has since garnered more than 1.5 million views.

The TikToker told local media: "First we tried to shape it, because hyaluronic acid in the first days can be shaped, but there was an excessive accumulation of the product and it didn't work.

"We also tried perforating to squeeze it out but it didn't work out.

“Then the last time I went, we applied (an enzyme), which I later learnt has a very strong allergic potential.

"In an hour everything was already very swollen. I rushed to hospital, they gave me adrenaline, steroids, anti-allergic drugs and there was time for everything to calm down."

Isis was left feeling very shaken by the experience.

She added: "I was very scared because it happened very fast. And I was feeling a lot of pain. My mouth hurt a lot, I couldn't see because my eye had closed a lot.

"I kept thinking that I was going to end up with some after-effect, that my face would end up not going back to normal.

"I was very scared, thinking 'my God, what did I do?' and very scared of something worse happening."

Dermatologist Camila Novak – who was not involved in the procedure – said Isis could have died if she didn’t seek medical attention straight away.

She said: "An important part of the population can suffer swelling of the mucous membranes, of the lips, of the eyes, it can cause oedema of the glottis, close breathing, it can cause allergies in the whole body."

Thankfully, Isis has made a full recovery.

Her painful allergic reaction took four days to subside – and the experience has put her off cosmetic procedures going forward.

She added: "I didn't expect it to have such an impact. I posted it to alert people because it was very dangerous and I hadn't seen anything about it."
