Woman sparks safety fears after she gets bracelet permanently melted on arm

A woman's hack to "permanently" wear a bracelet on her wrist has left people raising eyebrows with safety concerns.

Anna Paul visited a jewellery shop in Sydney, Australia, and picked a customised bracelet to be welded onto her wrist.

She told fans: "Today I'm going to get a bracelet permanently melted onto my arm."

While viewers were tricked to think that it was a new trend of body modification similar to an implant, it was actually done on the skin.

In the video she posted last week, Anna gets her wrist measured by a member of staff before she picks the charms to put on the bracelet.

She says: "They melt it on your arm and it stays there forever, it's permanent!

"Now we've got the protection on my arm, so the flame comes on."

The tool gives a quick "zap", a flash to weld the chain so the bracelet comes with no clasp at all.

"I'm getting it burnt on my hand, well…melted, sorry, and she's giving it a hard tug and it's not coming off," Anna continues.

"It's on there, now she's polishing it to make it nice and clean."

Due to the delicate, thin chain Anna picked for her bracelet, she was told that the bracelet could last for "a couple of years".

But fans had a few questions in their mind, with one asking: "What if you have to get an MRI or surgery?"

"What if you gain weight and it gets too tight? Then it won’t be forever it’ll just pop won’t it?" a second wondered.

A third said it's no for her, explaining: "My sensory issues would go crazy and I would rip it off. It’s gorgeous though."

"It seems like a terrible idea…" a fourth shared.
