A woman who lost a huge 11st has opened up about how she was ‘ignored’ on nights out because of her weight.

Mia Dunn, 23, has built up 89,000 TikTok followers where she regularly posts updates on her weight loss journey.

Despite now being confident enough to leave the house with her rejuvenated self-confidence, she has realised that she is treated differently now that she's a smaller size.

In a recent clip that has racked up thousands of views, Mia explained how life differed when she was seen as the ‘bigger friend’.

She explained: “I hate the way I was treated when I went out just because I was the ‘bigger friend'.

“I would just sit there being ignored, drinking awkwardly until someone noticed and felt obliged to talk to me.

“It sucks,” Mia declared.

She previously shared that she gets more attention from lads now that she is slimmer. When out, Mia shared: “Guys treated me a lot nicer and with more respect.”

Able to relate to Mia, many people fled to the comments to share their own stories and send her support.

One person related: “I know that feeling to well. Hurts in the soul. I’m sorry you experienced this. Sending you a big hug.”

Another user added: “And the awkward feeling when guys buy drinks for your friend but not for you so you feel excluded even if you are there with your friend.”

While a third person voiced: “Not one person has talked to me and only me whenever I go out, they’re always hitting on my friends and then feel obliged to talk to me too.”

Someone else shared: “I was ignored all the time unless it was teasing that was directed towards me. It hurts.”

Meanwhile, a fifth person related: “Becoming the loud and funny one just so that I would have something to distract myself from the fact that I was actually miserable."
