You’re cooking burgers wrong – Michelin star chef says you should never use BBQ
When it comes to food, the summer is also known as burger season.
As soon as the sun starts shining, people are keen to get the barbecues out and get cooking.
But it turns out it's not actually a good way to cook the humble burger.

Even though people love heating up the barbecue, a Michelin starred chef said it's a "horrible" way to cook meat.
David Chang, whose flagship restaurant Momofuku in New York has two Michelin stars, said hyping up the BBQ is simply a "marketing lie".
Instead, he claims we should be cooking the patties another way.
Speaking on his podcast, The David Chang Show, the chef, 45, said: "Grills suck for burgers.
"We have assumed as a culture that in summer – we eat a burger and it's grilled.
"I actually think the grill is a horrible thing for the burger.
"I think this viewpoint could get me in trouble."
Instead, he explained the best way to cook a patty is to either use a griddle or frying pan.
He said the success rate of using a griddle is "better", and it leaves you with less to clean up afterwards.
"A juicy burger is going to turn into a guaranteed grease fire, why use it?" he added.
"This whole idea of imparting flavour from the grill, the only flavour that's being imparted is the carbonised c–p that's on it."
He continued: "You would need to cook a burger over charcoal for 12 hours to get that smoky flavour.
"I think the grill and the burger is a marketing lie."
The chef also noted many people love barbecues simply because they're nostalgic, as the idea of being surrounded by your friends and good food makes the eating experience feel nicer.
But – when you rid this notion – he said the taste is actually not that great.
He did point out that some food is quite tasty when grilled such as chicken, chicken thighs, spatchcock chicken, pork, lamb chops and seafood.
Veggies such as corn were also said to be rather nice on the BBQ.
