Amanda Holden and Alan Carr’s €1 flat on sale for £127,500 after transformation

Showbiz pals Amanda Holden and Alan Carr’s €1 (80p) flat in Sicily is on the market for almost £130,000.

The pair purchased two dilapidated properties in the ancient town of Salemi and then spent three months knocking them through and giving them a makeover.

And now the stunning flat is ready to be sold – with all the profits going to Children in Need and Comic Relief.

The whole escapade was filmed of course for BBC’s Amanda and Alan: The Italian Job.

Initially, the property was uninhabitable, strewn with rubbish and had been taken over by squatters.

But now, after the celebrities' hard graft, the 1,300-square-foot space has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, three balconies and a walled courtyard “perfect for Mediterranean al fresco dining”.

Amanda, 52, and comedian Alan undertook all jobs from plastering to plumbing and they were both over the moon with the results.

They were both in charge of a bedroom each and tackled the kitchen and living room together.

On Rightmove, the listing shows a gorgeous property with a bright, spacious kitchen with a dining island.

One elegant bedroom boasts a modern, four-poster bed with quirky lighting while the other is a peaceful, calming space with a balcony.

Meanwhile, the dining room is centred by a large traditional wooden table and painted a refreshing apricot colour.

The BGT judge said: “It's gorgeous! Even though our tastes are very different, it’s got a really lovely flow. I feel a bit sad it’s done. I really love it.”

The show was a hit and pulled in 4.5 million viewers.

A source told The Mirror: “BBC bosses have been thrilled. The warmth and humour of their friendship as they’ve got stuck in to DIY, design and the Sicilian lifestyle has proved to be a big hit.”

Amanda, 52, is planning to wear more heat-appropriate clothes next time after sweltering in a boilersuit in 40-degree heat.

She said: “We said if we do this again, we might have a hot pants version.”

Alan, 46, joked he did not want to sell the apartment after all their graft. “It’s our holiday home. No questions, please. We’d rather not talk about what happens afterwards,” he said.

Meanwhile, during one episode of the show, Amanda revealed her '"weird celebrity crush" – leaving Alan gobsmacked.

"I quite like Alan Sugar", she confessed. Then went on: “I’ve always had a thing for Jack Nicholson my whole life.”

But Amanda was not done with making cheeky confessions

She added: “I like someone that makes me laugh, I’ve been laughed into bed!"
