Are Coronation Street, EastEnders and Emmerdale on tonight and when?
There have been some changes made to the usual broadcast patterns of the soaps in the wake of Queen Elizabeth II’s death.
Her Majesty died peacefully on Thursday September 8 at the age of 96, after an incredible 70 year reign.
The BBC suspended its regular programming from lunchtime on the day in question, when it was announced that there were concerns about her health.
Coverage continued throughout the day on BBC One and ITV, before news broke at 6.30pm that The Queen had died.
TV schedules were altered significantly following the monarch’s death, with soaps like EastEnders and Emmerdale being pulled from air.
EastEnders would go on to air its missing Thursday episode on the following Friday (September 9) on BBC Two, but Emmerdale and Coronation Street did not broadcast for the rest of that week.
Emmerdale’s hour-long Thursday outing was then aired on Sunday (September 11), but Coronation Street has yet to air a new edition.
There is so much uncertainty regarding TV schedules at the moment, and broadcasters are seemingly only releasing their plans on a daily basis so expect more changes.
The question is: are our favourite soaps back on the telly tonight?
Is Coronation Street on tonight and what time?
Coronation Street will air a new episode on Monday September 12 at 8pm.
However, it will not be the outing of the ITV soap that was previously advertised for the date in question, but rather it will be the displaced episode from the previous Friday.

They subsequently kiss on the balcony, before agreeing to keep their relationship under wraps until after the trial. Little do they know, however, that a furious Saira has spotted them.
Is EastEnders on tonight and what time is it on at?
EastEnders will air a new episode tonight on BBC One, albeit at the slightly later time of 8:30pm.
In Walford, it’s the day of Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) and Phil Mitchell’s (Steve McFadden) wedding and Kat gets a shock when Big Mo (Laila Morse) turns up!
The market traders surprise Kat and Phil with a celebration but Kat’s excitement is short-lived when Shirley Carter (Linda Henry) makes her doubt her future with Phil.
Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean), meanwhile, is on a mission to win Phil back, and Kat soon gets a huge wedding surprise in the form of her ex Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) turning up on her doorstep!
Is Emmerdale on tonight?
No, Emmerdale will not air a new episode tonight.
It is currently unknown as to when the ITV soap will broadcast its next instalment, but it’s still currently two outings behind, given that an hour-long edition of the show was due to broadcast on Friday before it was pulled.
Its absence from the scheduling tonight therefore means that it will fall further behind, with three half-hour editions now needing to broadcast in order to catch up to where it should be.
Is Hollyoaks on tonight and what time at?
Hollyoaks has continued to broadcast first look episodes on E4 so, pace-wise, it’s exactly where it should be, and thus another is expected tonight in its usual slot at 7pm.
Channel 4, however, is two episodes behind due to news coverage, and it’s currently unknown if the broadcaster will attempt to catch up or simply skip the outings in question.
These episodes, however, can be viewed on All4 right now.
