Bake Off judges in stitches after Paddy McGuinness accidentally makes rude showstopper

The judges of Celebrity Bake Off were left in stitches after Paddy McGuinness accidentally made a rude showstopper for his bake.

The 49 year old Top Gear presenter was intending to make a sweet replica of Barrow Bridge Chimney, which is a historic landmark of his hometown of Bolton, but it came out looking rather phallic.

Paddy told judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith: “What I was looking to do is give you Bake Off’s biggest erection – and I feel as though I have achieved that.”

Earlier on as he made his dessert, Paddy had realised its phallic resemblance, and when his biscuit collapsed, he quipped: “A shaft has collapsed…story of my life.”

Loose Women's Coleen Nolan, who is also appearing on the show, didn't miss an opportunity to dig him out, as she peered at his creation and said: "What the hell is that?"

Paddy replied only half-joking as he said: "That's nice isn't it? That's encouraging. 'What the hell is that?'"

He even swore, which had to be bleeped out, as his creation continued to suffer some setbacks, and as he pulled it out of the oven, Paddy said: "No no no, that's not good. I don't know what to do."

Paddy then said: "Now listen, they'll never know. Reset.

"I'm going to make another batch. We do again. We do not get stopped by a ginger biscuit."

Coleen, Inbetweeners actor Joe Thomas, 39, and comedian Ellie Taylor, 39, joined Paddy on the special show, which is in aid of Stand Up To Cancer.

Other celebrities that have appeared on the series include Friends star David Schwimmer, ex-Little Mix singer Jesy Nelson and former TOWIE star Gemma Collins.

Actors David Morrissey and Jessica Haynes, Olympic gold medallist Tom Daley OBE, the Repair Shop’s Jay Blades, Dragons’ Den star Deborah Meaden and TV presenter AJ Odudu are also included in the star-studded lineup.

Gemma Collins admitted that one of the biggest incentives for her to go on the show was her crush on Bake Off judge, Paul Hollywood.

She's never one to mince her words, and she didn't hold back when talking about her adoration for Paul in a recent interview.

The star told The Metro: "He [Paul] is gorgeous. I can confirm to every woman on the planet that he is unbelievable in the flesh. Whoever gets to marry Paul Hollywood next will be a lucky woman."

She said: "Paul Hollywood, bless him, was really complimentary because he saw how much enthusiasm I had and Prue Leith was beautiful."
