BBC Breakfast's Jon Kay thrills fans as he announces epic milestone with 20-year-old throwback clip | The Sun
JON Kay stunned fans after posting throwback clip from 2002 of the famous BBC1 balloon making its final flight.
The presenter, 53, drew attention to the unearthed clip as it is announced the Bristol Balloon with take to the air again this year.
The Sphere-105 built by Cameron Balloons in 1997 announced that it will fly again after years in storage.
Jon replied to the tweet: "Oh this is great news!"
He then posted a Six O'Clock News report from August 2002 where he was reporting on the balloon taking its final flight.
The BBC Breakfast host wrote: "I was on the (supposedly) final flight of the @BBCOne balloon many years ago for #BBCNews – now it’s set to fly again."

The report talked about how the balloon has flown all over the UK and been filmed in over 30 different locations.
It was last seen taking its final flight at the Bristol International Balloon Fiesta in 2002.
After that, it was stored away by the local preservation group and they said it would never again take to the skies – until now.
Jon was reporting live just before the balloons final take off.

He told viewers how the flight nearly didn't go ahead due to the wet weather conditions.
Live from Bristol, he said he's in the ballooning capital of the world and the weekend would see a total of 120 balloons take off.
BBC 5Live broadcaster Scott Bryan replied to Jon on twitter.
He said: "I want to be reporting for BBC breakfast for you on this balloon please."
Meanwhile fans couldn't believe how old the news report was.
One penned: "Blimey – 25 years?!"
Another commented: "Wowzers!"
