BBC Breakfast’s Sally Nugent giggles after accidental crude request
Viewers are asked to send photos in of their Chopper bikes
Introducing the subject, the camera panned across the studio to two Chopper bikes as Jon Kay questioned if viewers had ever had one growing up.
Both BBC Breakfast hosts confessed they never owned one as Sally said: “They were very expensive, that’s what my mum always said anyway!”
The topic comes as the classic ’70s bike is being relaunched for a new generation.
Jon said: “We’re going to be peddling back in time to take a look at how the cult classic, the Rally Chopper became so iconic.”
Addressing viewers at home, Sally said: “We’d love to see your pictures with a Chopper bike, so please do send them in.”
However, it wasn’t long before the BBC Breakfast star realised how her request could sound quite crude.
As a cutaway appeared on-screen informing people how they can get in touch, viewers could hear Sally chuckling.
Also trying not to laugh, Jon detailed how fans can send their photos in as Sally continued to find the whole ordeal funny.
She added: “So any lucky people who did manage to have a Chopper when they were a kid, send in your pictures.”

@chriso_wilson said: “@BBCBreakfast Bikes from years ago Sally Nugent talking about Chopper/ Chipper/ Grifter – on breakfast now.”
Although some people were thrilled the show was speaking about the retro bike as @0Brittin commented: “Ah, The Chopper. My husband tells tales of when he was a lad, riding his pride and joy all over the village with his pals.”
With @SteveBottomley1 sharing a photo captioning it: “@BBCBreakfast Morning team! Me and my mum taking a “backie” on a Raleigh Chopper we hired at a caravan park in Filey. Purple was the colour of choice back in the day!”
And YarkshirePud weighed in: “Well, you both did your best not to giggle and not to say send us photos of your chopper.”
BBC Breakfast continues weekdays on BBC One from 6am.
