Last weekend, Joe Lycett caused chaos on Laura Kuenssberg’s Sunday programme, when the comedian mocked ring-wing voters on the first episode of her new show. Joe mocked Tory leader hopeful Liz Truss who repeatedly declined to spell out her plans to tackle soaring energy bills. However, as the BBC presenter made a return this weekend, many viewers were unhappy with the guest line-up, with many calling for Joe’s return.

Taking to social media to question where Joe was, Alfie Moore penned: “Watching Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg and wondering who this week’s guest comedian will be?”

Rob Jeffries asked: “Bit late for this but I’m guessing Joe Lycett isn’t on Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg this week?”

While Vicky fumed: “Lasted 9 minutes watching Laura Kuenssberg. Away off to gouge out my eyes with rusty spoons for fun instead.”

Cat admitted they were giving the “show a miss”, tweeting: “Take it @joelycett isn’t on this week. Disappointing. Will give it a miss until he’s back.”

“No Joe Lycett this morning??” @captainblag asked.

User @ghost said: “@bbclaurak so we have lost the promised ‘fun’ in your new show? No comics?”

User @TheChangingMan2 raged: “So @BBC using anti-royalist #laurakuenssberg to present on Royal Family is just ridiculous!”

While Jon Harvey asked: “After Joe Lycett’s appearance on Laura Kuenssberg’s show last week, I am rather hoping that Frankie Boyle is a guest today.”
