Bobby Brazier makes ’emotional’ EastEnders debut that left him ‘shaking’ in new pics

Bobby Brazier is due to make his on-screen debut on EastEnders next week as character Freddie Slater.

The soon to be soap-star, who is the son of TV presenter Jeff Brazier, 43, and the late Jade Goody, was left quivering in his boots after filming his intense first few scenes and was then comforted by his co-stars.

The 19-year-old actor revealed an "emotional storyline" will take place on his arrival – as he stars as the now grown-up son of former character Little Mo Slater, returning to the show after an absence of 16 years.

Bobby opened up on the filming of an emotional scene of the BBC soap, where he has to shout: "everyone stop lying to me" as his character is filled up with "grief and anger".

He said: "It was overwhelming emotions to play I was shaking. I felt that I was acting and I went off after this scene finished I went round the corner so other actors could finish the scene.

"As soon as they were done Emma [Barton] (who plays Honey) and Perry [Fenwick] (who plays Billy) literally got up and came round the corner to give you a big kiss and a cuddle."

The young actor continued: "It meant so much I really appreciate that. I love stuff like that so that's a big moment for me and they made sure I knew that I did well."

Teasing a rollercoaster of emotions to come for his character, Bobby explained: "I've been thrown in at the deep end! It was a huge moment for me. I had an emotional scene where I came into the café and I was like, 'I don't want any b******t no more, stop lying to me.'"

Freddie's comeback comes 16 years after his character was last seen in Albert Square as a two-year-old, being born after Little Mo, played by Kacey Ainsworth, was raped by her friend, Graham Foster.

On being cast on the soap, Bobby said: "I'm very grateful. Loving every minute of Freddie so far. I'm really excited to be joining the cast of EastEnders – so far it's been perfect.

"Everybody has been so beautiful to me and made settling in easier than I could've hoped. Stepping into the acting world has always been a vision of mine and doing that with EastEnders as a Slater is a blessing.

"I'm very grateful. Loving every minute of Freddie and can't wait to see what's in store for him in Walford."

EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday at 7:30pm on BBC One.
