Bridgerton star’s ‘terribly white’ Coronation quip hits 8,000 Ofcom complaints
ITV has been hit with more Ofcom complaints after Bridgerton star Adjoa Andoh called the Buckingham Palace balcony "terribly white".
The broadcaster originally received 4,165 complaints because of the remark, but the number has now skyrocketed to 8,228 following 4,087 more complaints from the public.
The moment occurred during coverage of King Charles' Coronation on Saturday, May 6.

Adjoa, who is best known for playing Lady Danbury in the Netflix period drama, was commentating on the event alongside ITV's Tom Bradby and Julie Etchingham.
The 60-year-old said: "We have gone from the rich diversity of the Abbey to a terribly white balcony.
"I am very struck by that. I am also looking at those younger generations and thinking: 'What are the nuances that they will inhabit when they grow?'"
Following the Coronation, the actress appeared on BBC Radio 4's Broadcasting House programme and addressed the comment with host Paddy O'Connell.
"I think I upset a few people yesterday," she told the 57-year-old presenter.
"I was talking about the day and how marvellous it was and then looking at the balcony at the end and suddenly going: 'Oh it's so white!' because the day had been so mixed and I didn't mean to upset anybody."
The comment didn't sit well with those watching the Coronation and they headed to social media to vent their frustrations.
One person fumed: "You were given the opportunity to participate & got paid for it. If you hate the white culture, #RoyalFamily then why not refuse to take their money. You knew this is a great exposure for you and your career. But instead of gratitude, you are spewing hatred."
"I'm disappointed in Adjoa Andoh. The #Coronation focused on promoting positive race relations & representing modern Britain. There were many people from diverse backgrounds who had prominent positions yesterday, and yet Adjoa chose to discriminate with her divisive comment," wrote a second.
While another shared: "'Why make such an appalling #whitebalcony comment?! Appalling."
