Britain’s Got Talent viewers slam act for ‘unfair advantage’
Britain’s Got Talent: Yo-yo performers wow judges
Britain’s Got Talent was back on ITV with judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alisha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli keen to find more stars. Taking to the stage were two best friends who performed some impressive tricks with yoyos. However, viewers were less than impressed when they found out one of the members had appeared on America’s Got Talent before.
One of the pair asked judge Simon if he remembered him, having performed on the American version of the show last year.
Simon said he did remember the act, which left viewers wondering if Simon had invited them to perform on the show.
While the audience was blown away by the clever tricks, those watching at home took to Twitter to vent their frustration.
Tony Coffey said: “All BGT is now, is hand picked acts that Simon has brought in from all over the world, better when it first started, Simon is a control freak who has to acts that he knows.#BGT2023”
Matthew McBride commented: “So #BGT2023 is now officially known as ‘The UK Has No Talent, So We Have To Scout The World To Make The Show!’
“It’s beyond a joke now! Should be for UK residents only! #BritainsGotTalent”
Morgan fumed: “Surely to god if you have been on American’s got talent u should NOT be allowed to audition on the British one. Unfair advantage. Disgrace #BGT #BGT2023”
Schmorgster added: “#bgt and by comparison, the two guys from Japan who competed in Americas Got Talent last year is everything that’s wrong about this show.”
Paul Gibbons shared a rolling eye image with: “So Simon invited them onto here then. #BGT”
However, there were viewers who enjoyed the act and they were pleased to see the pair make it through.
@JHoldenfanpage said: “Omg that was brilliant toy toy did amazing with the yo-yo tricks just loved it and who knew you could do stuff like that with a yo-yo.”
Louisa commented: “Ngl that was the best yo-yo performance I’ve ever seen.”

The pair said it was their dream to come on one of the biggest shows in the world.
They met 20 years ago during a yoyo competition and have been best friends ever since.
The pair said they were “nervous” as Simon had already seen one half of the act.
Yet they had nothing to fear as all four of the judges fell in love with them.
Simon had said: “I’m really excited now to see the two of you,” as they took to the stage.
Following their act, Alesha said: “I love it, when you get a moment that blows your mind.
“Just when you think somebody can’t come up with something else that is incredible, and you just did that.”
Bruno said: “It was incredible, it was like a dance performance.”
