Chris Moyles missing for Radio X show
Radio X DJ Chris Myoles failed to turn up for his show on Monday after partying at Glastonbury over the weekend.
Chris, 49, left his co-stars to discuss his unexpected absence after he enjoyed the iconic annual event.
The Chris Moyles Show was therefore left without its titular star as a new week kicked off, with his colleagues Pippa Taylor and Dominic Byrne explaining to listeners why Chris wasn’t around.
Pippa joked: “I made it back because I’m a dedicated professional.
“I came back late last night, I had to miss out on a bit of Elton. I got back about half 12 in the morning.”
“You made it back – Chris was at Glastonbury…he isn’t here,” Dominic added.
Meanwhile, the radio station posted a photo of the empty studio on Twitter and captioned the snap: “The show has started, but where is @ChrisMoyles.”
However, Chris managed to present the show from a caravan near the site of the festival instead.
He addressed his absence, explaining: “Here’s the story, James [Robinson] was at Glastonbury on Thursday and we spoke to him on Friday do you remember?

“In his campervan…with all this equipment so he could be on the air.
“So I said to James, ‘I’m not coming in, I’m not there,’ so James said, ‘I’ve got all this equipment’ and I said, ‘Stop showing off.’
“And he said, ‘Not like that, radio!’ So he’s brought his campervan to where I’m staying, we’ve plugged it in, and here we are!”
He went on: “I’ve got my Elton John glasses. We’re parked up on the lawn, where I was staying for the weekend, because I was staying off-site as they call it, slumming it.”
Viewing figures for the festival skyrocketed during Elton John’s performance, which would also mark his last.
Closing Glastonbury, figures hit up to seven million as the 76-year-old attracted nearly 50 per cent audience show.
Data from overnights.tv revealed the special performance has now become one of the most-watched shows of the year.
The Chris Moyles Show airs on Radio X on weekdays from 6.30am.
