Coronation Street fans call out obvious blunder in Stephen and David fight

Coronation Street fans called out an ‘obvious’ TV blunder after Stephen Reid (played by Todd Boyce) and David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) scrap over Max’s solicitor’s fees.

During Monday’s visit to the Cobbles (January 30), tensions were running high as the youngster prepared to face charges of encouragement of terrorism in court.

Max was also charged with incitement to attempted murder months after he was groomed by racist extremist Griff Reynolds (Michael Condron).

Just hours before his sentencing, swindler Stephen managed to convince matriarch Gail Platt (Helen Worth) not to hand over the funds to pay for his solicitor’s fees.

And it's fair to say that the news didn't go down well with the fiercely protective dad as he stormed over to the family home to confront the menacing money-grabber.

David quickly stormed in the house and threw Stephen up against the wall, demanding to know what he said to his mother to convince her not to help out her grandson.

And things only went from bad to worse after Gail jumped in between them, pulling the pair apart before anyone got hurt.

But eagle-eyed viewers couldn't help but share their confusion at Stephen's reaction to being thrown against a wall after killing two people just weeks earlier.

One user penned: "How did Stephen kill two men when scrawny Dave can throw him onto the wall, like he's one of those slimy alien baby toys [three cry laughing emojis] #corrie."

Another agreed: "Stephen killed and managed to lift a rugby player on his own and he gets shoved against a wall by 4ft midget David [cry laughing emoji]. #corrie."

A third warned: "David getting violent with Stephen. Be careful, David Stephen is a killer #Corrie."
