Coronation Street star Jon-Paul Bell joins Hollyoaks as newcomer Beau
Hollyoaks has cast former Coronation Street star Jon-Paul Bell, it has been revealed.
The actor, who portrayed devilish paralegal Ben Chancellor in Corrie, will portray newcomer Beau in the Channel 4 soap, who is set to cause a stir according to the star himself.
‘Working on Hollyoaks has been an incredible experience’, Jon-Paul said. ‘I’m so honoured to be a part of the passionate, creative, hard-working team here.
‘I can’t wait for viewers to meet Beau and follow him on his exciting new journey into the village where he is sure to cause a stir for various well-known characters along the way’.
We couldn’t be more excited about what Beau will bring to the eponymous village.
Consider us intrigued.
Jon-Paul, 29, is best known to audiences for having played Ben Chancellor in Coronation Street earlier this year.
Ben was a paralegal who was known for his less than legal methods and he gained employment from Imran Habeeb (Charlie de Melo) amid his custody battle with Abi Webster (Sally Carman) over baby Alfie.
Imran, as viewers will recall, paid Ben to lie on the stand, as he claimed that he’d seen Abi purchase drugs from a dealer, when in reality only money was exchanged hands.
Jon-Paul appeared in a total of nine episodes.
Corrie isn’t the only ITV soap he’s starred in, however, as he previously appeared in Emmerdale, portraying two different roles.
Hollyoaks airs weeknights at 7pm on E4, or stream first look episodes daily on All4.
