Coronation Street star 'not okay' as Emmerdale legend is killed off

Coronation Street star Sair Khan has shared her reaction following the tragic, unexpected death of Rishi Sharma (Bhasker Patel) in Emmerdale and, like many of us, she is not doing well.

Rishi’s death came as a total shock to fans who all took to social media to express their devastation.

While Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson) and Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy) celebrated their marriage, viewers saw Rishi lying dead at the bottom of his staircase.

Tragically, his death came after a huge argument with Jai, who had just learnt the identity of his biological father, who just happened to be Rishi’s brother.

Throughout the episode, Jai made it clear that he wanted to build bridges with his dad, though now he will never have that chance, and we’re all heartbroken.

Corrie’s Sair Khan, who plays Alya Nazir, was devastated by the shock death, and took to her Instagram stories to express her grief.

Reposting a video from Emmerdale, she wrote, ‘I’m not okay guys,’ followed by a series of crying and broken heart emojis.

Emmerdale’s video contained highlights from the emotional episode, as well as a few words from actor Bhasker Patel, who revealed what he will miss about Emmerdale.

‘The thing I’ll miss the most for Rishi is being in this village,’ he explained.

‘He came here long ago and they embraced him, and he embraced the village as well.’

Rishi has been a staple in the Emmerdale village for 12 years, and it will certainly take some getting used to not having him around.

He will certainly be missed by fans and cast members alike.
