Coronation Street star reveals the 'long road ahead' for Ryan Connor after horrific acid attack | The Sun
CORONTATION Street star Ryan Prescott teased long-term effects the acid attack has on his character Ryan Connor.
Daisy Midgeley’s (Charlotte Jordan) stalking storyline came to its conclusion when Justin (Andrew Still) attempted to throw acid at her on her wedding day.
But Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) got in the way – becoming the victim instead.
Speaking to Express.co.uk and other media publications, the actor teased that the acid attack will have a huge impact on his character in the long run.
He said: “It’s going to change his life forever because it changes the way he interacts with the world.
“The difficulty within the premises of a soap is to show some kind of reality of the longevity of what it means to be an acid attack survivor in this case.

“The respiration period and the recovery period are so long, if not life-long.
“It’s psychotherapy and physiotherapy for many years, if not the rest of your life. PTSD and trauma therapy and learning simple things.
“Despite the massive shift that the incident causes, I think that he is determined to not let the experience define who he is.
“I think he somehow wants to find his way back to that infectious spirit that he once had, but it's a long road.”

Daisy will continue to battle with her guilt over what happened with Ryan who was trying to protect her causing life-changing injuries.
However Ryan does not blame her as the actor said: "He knows it’s not her fault, she’s been so consistent with his aide.
"She was the reason why he ended up in the hospital in the first place and saved most of his face.
“So, I don’t think he has any resentment towards Daisy, I think if he reserves any, it’s for Justin.
“But, even still on some level Ryan starts to understand these things are bigger than any one person, but if he has any blame it's definitely reserved for Justin.”
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on ITV1 from 8pm.
