Coronation Street’s Ellie Leach looks worlds away from her character as she shows off hair transformation | The Sun

CORONATION Street star Ellie Leach wowed fans as she showed off a new look this weekend.

The actress, best known for playing Faye Windass on the soap for 12 years, unveiled a fringe for the first time – looking a far cry from her character.

Her fans and famous pals rushed to comment on it, with Tina O’Brien remarking: “You look stunning! Loving the hair 😍.”

Catherine Tyldesley shared a series of heart eye emojis and commented: “The hair.”

While someone else added: “Ellie you look stunning love your hair xx.”

Earlier this year The Sun told how Ellie  has been written out of Corrie and her last scenes will air on the ITV soap in July.

Coronation Street’s fans convinced Ellie Leach has secretly got engaged

Fortunately for Ellie, who is the cousin of former co-star Brooke Vincent, Corrie scriptwriters have saved her character from the death knell.

An insider said: “Ellie’s been on the soap since she was 10 years old so it’s all she’s known, she sees the cast like an extension of her family.

"She’s sad to be leaving, but grateful that her character won’t be killed off. She’s going to have a go at trying other acting roles for a bit.”

Ellie’s tackled some gritty storyline on the cobbles, including teen pregnancy, early menopause and was even sented to prison for attacking a neighbour.
