In upcoming scenes on Coronation Street, Yasmeen Nazir (played by Shelley King) becomes concerned for Eliza when Stu Carpenter (Bill Fellows) starts to fill up her diary with activities. The grandfather doesn’t want Eliza to miss out on anything after she has dealt with so much upheaval. But could his plans backfire?
Next week, Stu panics about getting Eliza to school on time, not wanting her to miss out on anything more.
But he’s put out to discover Yasmeen has already made the young girl’s breakfast.
Stu’s even more upset when he learns Alya (Sair Khan) has plaited her hair.
Wanting to show he knows what he is doing and can take care of his granddaughter, he makes big plans for her.
Stu pins a timetable of Eliza’s hobbies to the kitchen cupboard door and asserts she can’t miss anything.
He explains she’s had enough upheaval and simply wants her to have an ordinary life.
But as Yasmeen looks at the long list of activities, she expresses concern for Eliza.
Is Stu pushing her to do too much and could it all be too much for her?
Stu hasn’t had the best of times since he arrived on the cobbles and has only just been exonerated for a crime he didn’t commit.
He was charged with murder but it was actually his ex-wife and daughter who were responsible.
Now Eliza doesn’t have her mother around, Stu is desperate to make sure she is cared for.
He’s also missed out on spending time with her so potentially wants to make up for lost time.
Elsewhere in Weatherfield, Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) and his son Sam (Jude Riordan) meet up with Karis, the facilitator and head into the prison.
While there, Sam interrogates Harvey and he concedes he intended to murder Leanne.
When Harvey reveals his Mum died when he was 14, Sam reckons it must have caused him to go off the rails.
Sam asks Harvey some awkward questions about his Mum and the villain strides out.
In his prison cell, Harvey is clearly rattled by the visit.
Picking up Sam’s most recent letter, he sets about reading his questions.
Nick is stunned to hear Harvey wants Sam to visit him again and worries what effect it will have on his son.
Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday on ITV at 8am.
