Corrie star teases ‘big’ storyline for Stu that has ‘major implications’ for everyone
Coronation Street's Bill Fellows has teased his character Stu Carpenter's "big" storyline and warned that it will have "major implications" for Weatherfield's residents.
Stu first made his appearance on the ITV soap in October where he was part of a homelessness storyline and struck up a friendship with troubled teenager Kelly Neelan.
The character has now become a pivotal part of the cobbles thanks to Yasmeen Metcalfe giving him a job at Speed Daal and letting him live at her home.
However, in upcoming scenes Stu's "big past" is set to be explored and actor Bill has teased that it will have "major implications" for everyone involved in his character's life.
Speaking exclusively to OK! at the 2022 British Soap Awards, Bill said of his character becoming a pivotal part of the cobbles: "Yeah and very quickly! As you know, I started off homeless, met Millie [Gibson, who plays Kelly], and we've got a great rapport."
Teasing what's next for his character, Bill said: "It's going to be very big because what's going to be revealed is all about my past and it's a big past… not just a little past, can't say too much more than that but it's major implications for everyone."
It comes as Stu's past has started to be explored on the ITV soap and earlier this week he went to visit his estranged on-screen daughter, Bridget.
Bridget was scared to see her father again and asked him to leave with Stu insisting: "I didn’t hurt that girl!"
Viewers are still yet to know what Stu's secret is and in upcoming scenes his ex-wife Lucy turns up, warning him to stay away from their daughter.
During the episodes, Yasmeen and Stu's food waste initiative has made the Gazette, but Stu is horrified to see his picture in the paper.
