Dancing on Ices Vanessa Bauer hints at strict ITV ban in rare backstage video

Dancing on Ice star Vanessa Bauer has teased a strict rule for the stars of the ITV skating show.

The 26-year-old professional skater is currently partnered with TOWIE icon Joey Essex for the 2023 series.

They wowed judges, and viewers at home, with their debut routine on Sunday (January 15) and sailed through to the next round of the competition.

It appears that stars have to be careful what they post on their social media accounts before it airs on screen in a bid to stop spoiling the surprise for fans.

Vanessa logged into her Instagram page on Wednesday (January 18) to share a rare behind-the-scenes video with her 206,000 followers.

In the clip, Vanessa and her co-star Tippy Packard, who is also a professional skater, can be seen posing wearing their skates and costumes by the side of the ice rink.

Vanessa penned alongside the video shared on her Instagram Story: "We can never post stories before the lives so these are coming a few days late ha."

Joey and Vanessa skated to Mack the Knife for their first routine of the series.

The pair impressed judges with their first skate and scored 27 points out of a possible 40 from the four judges, Jayne Torvill, Christopher Dean, Ashley Banjo and Oti Mabuse.

Once their performance was over, host Holly Willoughby asked for some gossip by saying to the former reality star: “It would be fair to say you’re really enjoying this partnership aren’t you?”

Joey said: "Well yeah, I mean… she’s easy on the eye," with Holly responding: "Yes she is an excellent skater."

Rumours have been spiralling about the potential romance between Joey and Vanessa in the media for weeks.

Last week, television presenter Lorraine Kelly quizzed the reality star on his feelings towards his partner, asking: “So of course, everybody says you’re going out. That is what they say all the time."

Joey told the ITV star: "Lovely girl. What? The tabloids? I mean she’s a great partner. She is beautiful, she is a lovely girl and we get on really well.

"It is nice to be with someone who… we literally spend so much time together on the ice, so it’s nice to be happy."
