It’s just one thing after another for David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) in Coronation Street right now.
After Max’s (Paddy Bever) involvement in Griff’s (Michael Condron) gang and being aware of the bomb planted in the Speed Daal van, David has done his very best to support his son – but it’s getting increasingly difficult.
This week, as Max continued to express the same right-wing views as Griff and his mates, he was distracted when he came across a livestream from his old school bully, Blake.
We established that Blake also shared Max’s opinions about people living in this country and decided to try and put a stop to the drop-in centre being held at Speed Daal.
As Max watched the event unfold, he was stunned when Blake pulled out a knife, ready to target Maria (Samia Longchambon).
Racing to the restaurant, Max tried to warn people but no one listened. Shortly after, Blake ran towards Maria with the weapon but Alya (Sair Khan) jumped in front, causing her to sustain a stab wound to the stomach.
In the aftermath, as Alya headed to the hospital, Blake told the police that Max’s propaganda videos inspired him to go on the stabbing spree so, in upcoming episodes, he faces the prospect of a very long time behind bars.
As this new video shows, David is initially feeling optimistic when Max’s solicitor tells him that the teen was clearly groomed by Griff.
Wanting his son to have the best legal team possible, David hopes Harriet can represent Max in court but there’s one small issue.
Money.
Can David get the funds together and help save his son from years in prison?
