Dotty exposed as Sophia who catfished Harvey in major EastEnders twist?

Dotty Cotton (Milly Zero) was left in shock in EastEnders after Bobby Beale (Clay Milner Russell) accused her of being responsible for Harvey Monroe’s (Ross Boatman) catfishing ordeal.

Harvey, as viewers know, has been messaging a woman named Sophia on a dating app, after Rocky (Brian Conley) encouraged him to sign up and take a leap of faith. 

The online interaction between the two, however, was not what it seemed, with Rocky soon voicing his concerns that Harvey was being catfished by a manipulative online user, who was masquerading as ‘Sophia’.

Determined to prove his theory, Rocky roped Bobby in to solve the mystery, and with some assistance from Freddie Slater (Bobby Brazier), he did just that, discovering that the profile image this so-called Sophia was using was actually a catalogue model stock photo from a decade ago.

Rocky, Bobby, Freddie and Mitch Baker (Roger Griffiths) relayed their discovery to Harvey, who refused to believe it, claiming there must be an explanation for the photograph.

In a bid to prove his pals wrong, Harvey quizzed Sophia about the picture, but Sophia’s account subsequently vanished, which confirmed the worst – he had been catfished.

Rocky and Mitch took Harvey out for a drink, and they came to believe that their friend had lost £10,000 to Sophia – though they couldn’t be sure of the exact amount, as Harvey wasn’t very talkative.

Dotty, however, was seemingly very clued in, knowing just how much money Harvey had sent to Sophia – something which raised Bobby’s suspicions.

‘It’s you, isn’t it?’, he said to Dotty. ‘You’re Sophia!’

Is there any truth to such a statement? has Dotty been conning Harvey for months?
