EastEnders, Emmerdale and Coronation Street schedule for the week revealed

With the FA Cup upon us a number of regularly scheduled TV shows have had to be rescheduled, including popular soaps EastEnders, Emmerdale and Coronation Street.

From 7pm on Wednesday (March 3) the football will be dominating television screens, filling the schedules for both the BBC and ITV.

Manchester United will be facing West Ham United at Old Trafford, with the match airing on both BBC and ITV, leaving no room for some of our favourite soaps.

Tuesday's (February 28) scheduled visit to Albert Square has been cancelled, while Emmerdale has been moved back to it's old 7pm slot, as both BBC and ITV will show the Fulham v Leeds FA Cup match instead.

However it isn't all disappointment for soap fans, with extra episodes of EastEnders airing on BBC One Monday and Friday.

ITV have also re-scheduled some of their soaps with Emmerdale airing an hour-long episode on Friday, and Wednesday night's Coronation Street airing on Thursday instead at 8pm.

This week's soap schedule will be as follows:

Monday

  • 7.30pm, BBC One – EastEnders
  • 7.30pm, ITV – Emmerdale
  • 8pm, ITV – Coronation Street

Tuesday

  • EastEnders cancelled
  • 7pm, ITV – Emmerdale

Wednesday

  • All soaps cancelled

Thursday

  • 7pm, ITV – hour-long Emmerdale
  • 7.30pm, BBC One – EastEnders
  • 8pm, ITV – Coronation Street

Friday

  • 7pm, ITV – hour-long Emmerdale
  • 7.30pm, BBC One – EastEnders
  • 8pm, ITV – Coronation Street

It's an explosive time on the soaps next week as Stephen Reid's downfall is teased as his plan to spike Carla Connor's drink with LSD backfires.

Elsewhere on the cobbles, Amy Barlow and Aaron Sandford end up kissing, but pull back before things go too far. Later, however, they end up getting drunk together.

When Amy feels sick and heads to bed, Aaron climbs into bed next to her and Amy is unaware of what is unfolding.

Over on Emmerdale, Laurel Thomas is left betrayed when she spots Leyla Harding kissing Jai Sharma in shocking scenes on the ITV soap.

Elsewhere, Paddy Kirk's friends and family are relieved when he arrives home. They are concerned about him, but Paddy plays up his happiness.

Meanwhile, on EastEnders, Denise Fox learns that Jack Branning is investigating Ravi Gulati.

Also in Albert Square, Zack and Whitney head to the hospital and are left devastated when their baby is formally diagnosed with Edwards' Syndrome.

Zack has trouble coping with the news, but after some wise words from Sharon, he manages to be the support that Whitney needs.
