EastEnders fans beg bosses to end this weird relationship between Mick and Janine
Fans of EastEnders have begged show bosses to "end this weird relationship between Mick and Janine", as they gear up to get married just before Christmas.
The unlikely pairing came about after the demise of the marriage of Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) to his longterm love, Linda (Kellie Bright).
Mick believes that Janine (Charlie Brooks) has been there for him throughout the breakup, and the death of his aunt Tina (Luisa Bradshaw-White) as a shoulder to lean on, and so the relationship turned romantic.
Janine and Mick ended up getting engaged, with their big day due just days before Christmas, however, in true soap fashion, it's not likely that the day will go without a hitch.
What Mick doesn't know is that the end of his marriage to Linda was actually caused by Janine, who meddled in their relationship, leaving them both believing that their marriage couldn't survive.
Linda and Shirley (Linda Henry) are both aware of Janine's scheming, but Mick remains, for the moment, blissfully ignorant.
Adding further drama to the situation, Janine – who is pregnant with Mick's baby – wants Linda out of their lives for good, as she tells Mick she wants him to buy Linda out of their pub, The Queen Vic.
Knowing how much the pub means to Linda, Mick refuses, however, he suggests that he and Janine leave Walford to start a new life together.
Janine is not happy about this plan as she wanted to become the new landlady of The Queen Vic, but Mick tries to reassure her by telling her he will reveal their plans to Linda soon, with more drama yet to ensue.
Fans of Eastenders, however, are not convinced about the relationship between Mick and Janine, with one begging show bosses to "end this weird relationship."
After Eastenders added a promo to Facebook, that person commented: "For the love of God, please end this weird relationship between Mick and Janine."
They even went as far as to slam it as: "Not believable and no chemistry."
Others theorised that Mick is set to meet his death at the culmination of this storyline, as they replied to the person who begged the Mick-Janine relationship to come to an end, writing: "Only a few more weeks then he's dead in Christmas episode."
Eastenders announced in January that actor Danny Dyer was leaving the show at the end of the year.
A spokesperson for the soap announced Danny's upcoming departure as they said: "Danny will be leaving EastEnders when his contract comes to an end later this year.
"Danny has made Mick Carter an iconic character which we shall always be grateful for.
"However we won’t be saying goodbye just yet as there’s still quite some time – and plenty of explosive drama for Mick – to come before he departs Walford."
