EastEnders fans seriously confused by 'forgotten' Rocky Cotton storyline – but do you remember it? | The Sun
EASTENDERS fans are left puzzled at a forgotten storyline that was once at the heart of the soap.
In 2021, mysterious Rocky Cotton (Brian Conley) arrived on the square claiming to be the father of Sonia Fowler, Terry Cant, however it soon transpired that he was not the man he claimed to be.
Fans only learned of Rocky’s true identity in September when it was revelaed he was up to no good and had been scheming with Dotty Cotton (Milly Zero) in a bid to obtain Dot Branning’s inheritance from Sonia (Natalie Cassidy).
On Christmas Day 2021, Dotty exposed her plans to the residents of Albert Square and confirmed that Rocky was actually Dot’s first husband’s son Charlie.
As in true EastEnders fashion, the Christmas bombshells did not stop there.
Dotty’s mother Sandy also exposed the true paternity of her daughter confirming that Rocky was actually her dad, not his half-brother Nick.

With so many twists and turns, it looked certain that the storyline would become a major talking point throughout 2022 but many fans of the BBC One soap have been quick to point out just how little the pivotal story is mentioned now.
Writing on Digital Spy’s Forum, many Walford fans shared their confusion over the forgotten plot.
One user wrote: "It's starting to look like Rocky being Dotty's dad has been quietly forgotten about.
"It was the big Christmas reveal yet here we are at the end of the summer and the story has gone precisely nowhere.

"Both characters have moved in different directions now and barely interact any more, and Sandy hasn't appeared since (or even really been mentioned much). If they ever do decide to revisit this plot will anybody care? Did anyone even care in the first place?"
Another fan added: "Of all the stories that seem to have been changed, that's the one I find the weirdest. I also thought they would have resolved things between Sonia and Dotty by now (especially given that both Sonia and Kathy seem to have forgiven Rocky) – yes, Sonia's got every reason not to forgive Dotty, but they do have the Dot connection and technically Sonia is meant to be looking out for her.
"I really thought it was going to end up with them being closer and Dotty functioning as a sort of Bex replacement for Sonia. Instead Dotty is randomly living with the Panesars, has picked Suki for her substitute mother figure instead, and hasn't spoken to either Rocky or Sonia for months."
Another fan simply put it: "Rocky not being Sonia6's dad should have had more of a splash.”
