EastEnders fans swoon over Kathy Beale as they brand drunk scenes ‘highlight’

EastEnders fans were in for a dramatic episode tonight (May 2) after Keanu’s shocking arrest at Albie’s christening.

But it a hilarious turn of events, it was Kathy Beale who stole the show, after she appeared to get totally wasted at the Old Vic.

As fans watched Keanu negotiate his way out of jail while Ravi juggled threats from his shady bosses, Kathy took centre stage as she began pounding champagne and wine, giving fans a welcome bit of comic relief.

Viewers praised the star for her impressive performance as a drunk, taking to Twitter to share their views.

“We deserve a whole episode of just hammered Kathy i think,” said one viewer.

“Another added: Drunk Kathy is giving us life,” said a second, while a third penned: “Gillian Taylforth plays a perfect drunk version of Kathy.”
