EastEnders' Max Bowden grieves lost friend in 'one of hardest days' of his life
EastEnders star Max Bowden has posted an emotional post on his Instagram following the death of his friend.
The actor, known for his role as Ben Mitchell in the BBC One soap, lost his friend, Maxwell, last year.
In his latest post, Max paid tribute to his beloved friend, sharing a video of him singing Billy Joel’s Piano Man.
He wrote alongside:
‘Today has been one of the hardest days I’ve endured. It’s the first time I’ve grieved max properly for a very long time. A birthday, Christmas, anniversary’s are all times that are difficult in the grief process. It never gets easier, it just gets more bearable.
‘What I would do for one more night hearing Max butcher piano man and taking his kit off in a karaoke booth. I don’t think I’ll ever get over not having him to share life with. Love you always my big bro.’

He finished the post: Life has a very funny way of throwing things your way, as I found my copy of @hussainmanawer life is beautiful. That’s a comfort to me tonight. Hold your loved one, especially your friends. Friendship is the purest and most delicate thing possible; avoid taking it for granted.’
Many of Max’s followers flooded the comment section with supportive messages, including his co-stars James Farrar, James Bye and Milly Zero, who all shared heart emojis.
Max is currently in the middle of a really powerful storyline in EastEnders.
A few weeks ago, his character, Ben, was raped by Lewis (Aidan O’Callaghan).
During the aftermath, Ben recently turned to drugs to try and block out his emotions.
However, after taking too many, he ended up in hospital and discovered he had suffered a heart attack.
