EastEnders hardman Mick (played by Danny Dyer) fell in love with master manipulator Janine (Charlie Brooks) shortly after the breakdown of his marriage to Linda Carter (Kellie Bright). Their wedding day arrives just shy of Christmas Day and in true EastEnders fashion, the day is sure to be filled with festivities and a surprise visit.
In upcoming scenes, Rocky Cotton (Brian Conley) bumps into a familiar face and persuades them to perform at the carol concert fundraiser.
He also informs the musician that it will be under the twinkling lights of Albert Square as a wedding gift for Janine and Mick.
The award-winning singer-songwriter Rag ‘n’ Bone Man (Rory Charles Graham) is set to perform the perfect song for their big day, along with the love and support of the residents.
Speaking about his cameo appearance, the singer said: “In the words of Gabrielle ‘dreams can come true’ Thanks to everyone at EastEnders for one of the best days of my life!!”

Their wedding day arrives just shy of Christmas Day and in true EastEnders fashion, the day is sure to be filled with festivities and a surprise visit.
Chris Clenshaw, the executive producer added: “We have always known Rag ‘n’ Bone man is a huge EastEnders fan, so when an opportunity came up in one of our stories it was the perfect moment for us to ask him to not only appear but also perform in Albert Square.
“We are all thrilled that he said yes, and we hope the audience enjoys the special Christmas treat, as much as everyone at EastEnders enjoyed having Rag ‘n’ Bone Man in Walford.”
However, this is Walford and there isn’t a big event or wedding day that hasn’t gone down without a hitch.
The surprise arrival of the pop legend could set off nerves in Janine and lead her to not turn up to the wedding, leaving Mick jilted at the alter.
However, if Mick finds out before the wedding what Rocky has planned, he could make it known how he doesn’t appreciate the gesture, turning up to his wedding day busted up.
In upcoming scenes, Shirley Carter (Linda Henry) embarks on a mission to uncover the truth about Janine and save her son from marrying the wrong person.
She first overhears Janine on the phone with a mystery man named Steve, twice, and wastes little time investigating and confronting Janine.
Elsewhere, Janine breaks the news to Scarlett Butcher (Tabitha Byron) that they will be leaving the pub, but Scarlett is more concerned that Mick will discover her mum’s lies.
Janine reiterates to her daughter that Mick must never know, but unbeknownst to her, Shirley has heard the whole conversation.
Things take yet another interesting turn when Shirley decides to watch Die Hard and finds the photo of Frankie (Rose Ayling-Ellis) inside the DVD case.
This photo exposes Janine and her bloody clothes following the car crash that she framed Linda for.
Shirley is desperate to reunite Mick and Linda and get Janine out of their life forever, but will she be successful in time?
Back in January 2022, Danny Dyer revealed that he would be departing from his role and leaving the BBC soap for good.
The end of the road for Mick Carter is on Christmas Day, in an epic showdown with Janine and Linda.
In a statement, Dyer said: “I’m 44 now, and I’ve had nine years of playing Mick and I think he needs to be rested for a bit. I’m still looking for that defining role.
” don’t know what that is yet. Maybe it is there, maybe it isn’t. But I’ve always been quite ambitious and I had quite a long career before I went into EastEnders.
“I know the landscape has changed slightly but I want to go out there and have another go, and the only way I can do that of course is if I decide to walk away from the job.”
EastEnders airs weekdays from 7:30pm on BBC One.
