EastEnders video: Phil vows to find a way to destroy Keeble before she kills Kat

The new year started with a bang in EastEnders, as Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) and Tommy (Sonny Kendall) were kidnapped by DCI Keeble (Alison Newman) in the latest part of her plan to take down Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden).

The abduction came after Keeble discovered that Phil had evidence proving that she was corrupt.

After locking Kat and Tommy in a warehouse, she made a phone call to the head of the Mitchells, demanding that he hand over the evidence in exchange for Kat and Tommy’s lives.

In a new video clip for an episode airing tonight, the Mitchells argue over the whereabouts of Keeble, Kat and Tommy, as they try to figure out a way to track them down.

While Alfie (Shane Richie) insisted they call the police, it is Sam (Kim Medcalf) that suggests giving Keeble what she wants.

Phil shuts the idea down immediately, pointing out that the evidence he has is the only thing keeping Billy (Perry Fenwick) from going to trial.

He tells her that even if he hands over the evidence, she could still kill Kat, and he won’t risk that.

Determined, he insists that there must be a way to save Billy and Kat, and that he is going to find it.

But with a shot set to ring out n the final struggle, will Phil fail to avert tragedy?

EastEnders airs these scenes on Wednesday January 4 at 7:30pm on BBC One.
